Sky HD over wireless HDMI

What can stream HDMI?

Prestigio Wireless HDMI Bridge

Prestigio Wireless HDMI Bridge is the latest wireless HDMI sender on the market, released in the UK at the end of 2010. Available at £250 its cheaper than its nearest competitor the Marmitek Gigavideo 820 (~£350).

It has mixed reviews so far, with some purchasers remarking that they get an excellent HD picture on their second TV. However, this has not been the case for all Sky HD owners with some reporting that their Samsung or Thompson box will not talk to the Prestigio sender. Let's hope that this is the start of more wireless HDMI senders coming to market, and with less issues.

Xenta Wireless HDMI

Xenta Wireless HDMI

I originally purchased this system in November 2012, along with various splitters to allow me to stream Sky or the PS3 to an upstairs room. It worked well until January 2014 where the Tx and Rx parts of the Xenta system would no longer 'see' each other.

The product had been discontinued, but I April 2014 found a seller on eBay who was selling lots of these and had apparently tested all the units to ensure they worked, I suspect they had bought up the last of the discontinued stock. I am still using the Xenta system, occasionally it takes a while for the Tx and Rx to communicate, but after that it works well. I've extended the system to include a PS4. There is no issue with frame rates or lag.
